The Green
The green is now closed. Thanks to everyone who helped with preparing the green for the winter – mowing, scarifying, verticutting, hollow tining, seeding, top dressing (all 5 1/2 tonnes of it) and drag matting.
DBC AGM
The club’s AGM will take place on Thursday 12 November in the Pool Room of the Woodbourne Pub – 7.30pm start.
Any notices of motions must be submitted to Paula by 29 October at the latest. Motions can be sent to 37 Palatine Road, Douglas, IM2 3BQ or via email: paula@garfam.co.uk
To help speed up the evening’s procedings, it would be useful if all teams could elect next season’s captains prior to the evening.
DBC Christmas Dinner
The club’s annual Christmas Dinner will take place on Saturday 12 December at the Palace Hotel – 7.30pm start. It’s a three-course carvery with coffee/tea and mince pie for £21.95. Partners are welcome.
Please let Paula know on 411300 if you wish to attend. A £10 per person deposit is required with the full amount payable prior to the evening – to save hassle on the night.
Coaching at Castletown
Phil Kelly is organising a morning for anyone wishing to become a bowls coach. The session takes place between 10am and 12 noon on Saturday 17 October at Castletown. Contact Phil by text on 463933 or email pdkelly@manx.net if you wish to attend.
Ladies’ Coffee Morning
The Ladies’ Association Coffee Morning will take place on Saturday 21 November, 10am – 12 noon at St Andrews Church Hall.
