CROWN GREEN BOWLING
IN THE VILLA MARINA COMPLEX

Nicknamed the Villa, we’re a crown green bowling club located within the Villa Marina Complex – our green overlooks the Villa Marina Gardens. The entrance to our green is through the large green gates at the corner of Derby Square Lane and Derby Road – just walk in and up the steps.
The Crown green bowling season runs from early April to late September. Matches take place most weekday nights during the season, so you’ll usually find someone on or around the green.
Teams
Crown green bowling is suitable for players of any age.
We have the following teams:
- Four men’s night league teams
- One ladies’ night league team
- Two men’s over 60s teams
- Two mixed teams
Matches take place most nights during the season. The men’s over 60s teams play Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
Come & try sessions
Want to try crown green bowls?
We run come-and-try sessions at 10.30 am every Saturday. Other times by arrangement with Andy C.
No equipment is needed, but you will need flat shoes.
Become a member
We’re a sociable bunch at Douglas, and we love to welcome new members of all ages and abilities. If you’re looking for a new sport, or just want to get out and meet new people, give us a call, we’ll be happy to show you around and teach you the basics of the game – along with an obligatory cup of tea!
Current membership fees (2024):
- Full membership – £65
- Junior membership – £10 (£15 first year)
- Social membership – £25
- Novice bowlers (first-year fee) – £40 + £15 registration fee
