Isle of Man Farmers Mixed Doubles Competition

21 April 2013 //  by Admin//  2 Comments

This was the inaugural meeting of this event. We would like to thank Mike Caley from The Isle of Man Farmers Ltd for their superb sponsorship.

Weather held fair for the day. Record number of entries.

What more could you wish for?

Well….

We broke with tradition and run the competition completely differently to the norm.

Re-draw every round made for some great pairings and some great bowling.

To keep the spectators happy we also introduced 2 £20 spot prizes before the start of the quarter finals and before the final.

They seemed to be well received and made it interesting for our sponsor who was delighted with the numbers at the end of the competition.

Paula, Stuey and Kneeny made sure the comp ran smoothly. Roy, Geoff and the ladies made sure everyone was kept fed and watered.

The eventual winners were Janet and Robert Monk who saw off the challenge of John Kennish and Jenny Moore.

Losing semi finalists were Rachel Quirk and Matthew Keggen along with Stuart and Paula Garrett.

    Hello
Please tell me what days you play on, and what days/times are your clubs meetings. I live nearby but usually your gate is closed when I pass.
    Thank you.

Most nights of the week have a league match of some sort going on.
Tuesday and Thursday afternoons are used by the Over 60’s League.
We have a 3rd team that is classed as our ‘Nursery’ team and this is for players who
are just starting out in the game. There is no pressure to win. This team is purely
for enjoyment and for improving your game.
Starting next month we have a load of Club Competitions to get through.
If you feel as though you would like to partake in the sport please feel free to give
me a call on 463037 and I can assist you.

      Thanks
      Ken Williams
