OK. On with the newsletter.

Since the AGM all the timber around the outside of the green has been replaced and work is well under way replacing the rotten timber and lifting the edges of the green.

The ‘Old’ Clubhouse has been totally gutted and is waiting for units and flooring so that we can run the catering from there in future.

Heron & Brearley are producing a beer for our 125th Anniversary which we are dispensing from the old clubhouse. This will be a major factor in our revenue income for the coming year.

Our Treasurer and Committee have asked that anyone who would like to pay their subs early would greatly ease our current cash flow situation. Our advertisers/sponsors do not renew until the end of March/early April and we would like to try and make some kind of attempt to get the shelter ready for the start of the season or at least have it ready by the Festival.

The green remains open to all members but we would appreciate if you did not play on the surface if it is frozen. It can cause a lot of damage to the new growth that we are trying to produce.

We now have a Fund Raising sub committee who are paving the way with new events to help raise some money for our challenge of  making Douglas Bowling Club once again a green and Club that was the envy of the Island. Please help them by attending or assisting in any way that you can. Thanks

It’s going to be a very busy year ahead. 3 extra teams have been created.

A 3rd Mens Open Age Team

A 2nd Mens Over 60’s Team

A 2nd Mixed Team

Ken and Paula are now doing the website which you must all have a good skeet at. www.douglasbowlingclub.com

Don’t forget to go to our Facebook page at Douglas Bowling Club.

One last thing…….. Can everyone please pass on their email details to Ken. This will save on postage and allow Ken to produce more Newsletters throughout the year keeping everyone up to date on what is going on.

In the meantime check the website for your latest newsletter.

Good Luck to All The Teams
