This is the second season that we have put a team into the Mixed League.
It is based on a home/away tie and the team comprises of 9 players made up of either 4 ladies and 5 gents or 4 gents and 5 ladies.

This has to be a great result for The Villa. The Ladies have played out of their skins and the Men put together a great performance.
One leg doesn’t do anything in this competition and without question the Marown Marauders will be lying in wait for us next week. But… Let’s take the positives out of this game.
On the down side… The group huddle at the end of game needs a lot of attention. We can’t have players suffering from hypothermia because of lack of cuddling.

Thursday 19th April – Away to Marown
This has to be put down as one of this new teams best performances. We went down to Marown expecting them to pull back the lead that we had from the first encounter, but once again our Ladies showed some brilliant bowling to pull off an excellent result that will see us heading off to have a crack at Nobles Mixed in the next round.
Even the group hugs are getting better. Nice to see some travelling supporters following the team and sharing in the hugging. (Who invited them?). Finger prints all over the place…

We’re now into ‘sunny’ August and our next round of the Mixed League match against Nobles Mixed. The green certainly was a major factor in the result scores. It’s tough coming from a running green to one that tears the shoulder muscles out. Fair play to Nobles Mixed they handled the conditions far better than we did.
Can we pull back the 30 point deficit? All will be revealed next week in the return fixture.
